Thursday 23 January 2025, Birmingham - Leading UK hospitality provider Keith Prowse is pleased to announce that award-winning Michelin Star Chef Tom Shepherd will be curating this summer’s menu at Edgbaston.
Tom will be bringing his culinary vision to the Warwickshire Suite, elevating the dining experience for guests attending the England v India Test Match, England v West Indies ODI and Vitality Blast T20 Finals Day.
About Chef Tom Shepherd
Tom was born in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, and trained locally to perfect his craft. He has a distinguished career spanning over a decade in some of the UK’s finest kitchens.
His experience includes time as Development Chef at 2 Michelin Star Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham. Prior to that he was Sous Chef to Michael Wignall at Surrey’s 2 Michelin Star restaurant, The Latymer and Head Chef at Birmingham’s 1 Michelin Star restaurant, Adam’s.
In 2018, Tom was awarded the Acorn Award, recognising him as one of the top 30 under 30 in the hospitality industry. This paved the way to opening his own restaurant, Upstairs by Tom Shepherd, in Lichfield in 2021 and was awarded a Michelin Star just four months after opening; this was the first Michelin Star for Staffordshire.
Upstairs offers an intimate and refined atmosphere where guests can fully immerse themselves in the culinary experience. The menu comprises of modern British dishes that use local and seasonal produce with subtle influences from Japan and east Asia.
