Experiences at the Open

February 19, 2020

2020 welcomes the 149th Open at Royal St George’s Golf Club, from the 15 – 19 July. It is the fourth and final major tournament of the year, with the others being the Masters, the PGA Championship and the US Open.

This year, The Open returns to the famous golf course for the first time since 2011. Here, the most recent champion was Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke, who fulfilled his boyhood dream of becoming Champion Golfer of the Year and lifted the Claret Jug.

Located on the Kent coastline, Royal St George’s has a unique place in golfing history. It was here, in the ‘garden of England’ that The Open was first played outside Scotland, in 1894, whilst also being the 15th time Royal St. George’s has hosted The Open, with legends such as Sandy Lyle and Greg Norman both previous winners. Spectators line the beautiful towering dunes which surround the green, whilst boasting popular viewing spots such as the spectacular 6th hole ‘The Maiden’.

With hotels and tickets notoriously difficult to book, Keith Prowse are proud to offer combined hotel and ticket packages for this exclusive event. Choose between a 2 or 3 night stay, with the latter including access to The Open’s grand finale. You will stay at the beautiful country house 4* Chilston Park Hotel, complete with full English breakfast and hotel dinner with drinks. With transfers to and from the airport, and to and from Royal St George’s coming as standard, there’s certainly nothing standard about the experience on offer here.
