England delivered for our guests at Twickenham for the 2020 Guinness Six Nations securing two emphatic wins against rivals Ireland and Wales at the Home of England Rugby. England managed to get a bonus point against Ireland scoring 4 fantastic tries including Elliot Daly’s steal over the try line. England later secured the Triple Crown over Wales despite a late Wales fight back against a 13 man England team. England started the affair quick with Anthony Watson using his quick and electric feet to open the scoring during the tight fixture. Twickenham Stadium provided for some truly memorable moments in the 2020 Guinness Six Nations. Guests were treated to an unforgettable day with a world-class hospitality experience. Here are some of the highlights.
THE EAST WING:
The East Wing is the pinnacle of rugby hospitality. Its level four location meant that guests could enjoy spectacular views of both London’s skyline and inside the stadium. Our guests arrived via their own private entrance, before being greeted by our fantastic hosts. Pre-match guests enjoyed three of their five course menu whilst several rugby legends from past and present chatted to them, including James Haskell, Rory Best, Anthony Watson, Mike Brown and Jonathan Davies. Whilst relocating to the balconies for the game, the kitchen was hard at work to ensure that post-match afternoon tea was delivered, as well as the stunning cheese course. Bottomless Bollinger Champagne throughout the day was the icing on the cake in this facility - it is no wonder that this space is regarded as the jewel in the stadium’s crown!
THE LOCK:
The Lock boasted style and class, with a hospitality experience that combined classic English cuisine with a contemporary twist. The day started with 3 and a half hours of soaking up the pre-match atmosphere, including free-flowing Champagne and a range of star-studded cocktails provided by the two bars within both areas of The Lock. Guests loved the English-inspired menu as well as the afternoon tea offering after the game. The fun didn’t stop at the final whistle; past players including Jeremy Guscott and Lewis Moody delivered a humorous yet insightful Q&A, further lifting the atmosphere. All of these elements within the facility came together to deliver a truly unforgettable rugby hospitality experience at Twickenham Stadium.
THE GATE:
Although a casual dining experience, the ambience within The Gate was electrifying both pre and post match. Both the space and menu mirrors a chop-house style, buts its simplicity did not mean that the food fell short of exquisite. An abundance of fine wines and real ales were on offer with the all-inclusive bar, which was open right up until 90 minutes after the match. Our guests were treated to an unbeatable view of the pitch, within the 22s of the East Stand. It’s proximity to the halfway line meant that no part of the match action was missed.
Whilst soaking up the hospitality experience, our guests were also able to socialise with a number of cricket legends, including Ben Cohen, Phil Vickery and Charlie Hodgson to name a few. Guests thoroughly enjoyed hearing about some of their fondest memories from their time playing for the England International squad, a true highlight of a day spent in The Gate.
THE BRITISH AIRWAYS ROSE GARDEN:
Located at the top of the East Stand, guests enjoyed rugby’s greatest party with pre match live music and rustic hand-held food including rotisserie meat and unique pizzas. Guests then vacated the facility to arrive at their seats with fantastic panoramic views of the stadium to ensure they don’t miss a minute of the electrifying rugby action. This relaxed roof-top experience ensured guests could fully unwind and continuously enjoy different aspects of the facility from the informal seating to the loud and atmospheric bar areas. This is a fantastic modern take on rugby hospitality.
