The Queen's Derby Outfits

Her Royal Highness first attended the Epsom Derby in 1946 for her 20th birthday, accompanying her father King George VI. After over seven extraordinary decades, Her Majesty has only missed 2 Epsom Derbies, making this association a strong one.

Queen Elizabeth II is known for her love and commitment to equestrian, being an accomplished rider since a young age, as well as the close involvement that herself and the rest of the Royal Family have in British horse-racing. Despite not winning the Derby yet, the Queen has often had runners in the top races, including the Derby, the greatest flat race in the world. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Investec Derby Festival, previously scheduled Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June has been re-scheduled for Saturday 4 July.  The one-day event, which will see the running of two Group One races: Investec Oaks and Investec Derby, will take place behind closed doors. At the time of publishing, we're pleased to advise that HRH Queen Elizabeth II has 5 horses registered for the Derby race.
