So, you’re the lucky one – you’ve had an invite to enjoy all-inclusive hospitality at one of our exciting sports events. Whilst we want you to enjoy your day, we do urge you to consider a couple of guest golden rules. We’re not being ‘party poopers’ - we just want to ensure you have the best time possible! Here’s a quick overview of our guest code of conduct at networking events.
Dress Accordingly
Whether it’s a day at the tennis, rugby, cricket or golf, you’ll want to dress appropriately for the day. For example, a day at the tennis may involve a summer dress and wedges or a lightweight shirt and jacket. Comfortable shoes are advised to accommodate when travelling between the hospitality spaces and the courts. Yet a day at the rugby or cricket is perhaps a little more casual, so consider a jeans and jumper/shirt/blouse combination, depending on the time of year.
Other events such as horse racing tend to have a stricter dress code with tailored suits, dresses and race-day hats, whilst a day at the golf will likely involve a more causal wardrobe consisting of polos, shirts, skorts, shorts and tees. So, whilst we say dress smart, we also say dress accordingly and ensure that you do your research beforehand.
Be On Time
Skip the ‘fashionably late’ option when it comes to corporate hospitality, for two reasons. Firstly, if you are either someone’s guest or playing host to your guests, you’ll want to be punctual as it could come across a little rude. Be there, on time, to greet and to be greeted. Secondly, why would you want to waste a minute of your hospitality time? Get comfortable in the hospitality spaces, order your first drink and start networking – punctuality ensures maximum value out of your day.
Top tips - check travel times, get those shoes polished and have any documentation or ticket information ready to go before the event day, it’ll save you unnecessary stress.
Go Steady on the Drink
Free flowing beverages throughout the day is certainly a highlight for those lucky enough to experience hospitality. A freshly poured pint of Guinness at the rugby, sipping on summer cocktails or free-flowing fizz at the tennis…it’s the perfect complement to a networking event. However, a word of advice – you have a length of time to enjoy the chosen event, with open bars on offer for the majority. Try and contain that excitement and avoid drinking too much too early. For one, it ensures that you steer clear of any embarrassments and mishaps, whilst ensuring that you enjoy every element of your day, including the food on offer, the sport and the time to network.
Have Fun!
See we’re not all negative around here! Of course, one of the big golden rules is enjoy yourself. Soak up that eclectic atmosphere, get to know those with you, take advantage of the delicious food on offer and make your experience as memorable as possible.
