AccessAbility: An Evening of Dining and Entertainment

The British Paralympic Association (BPA) is the National Paralympic Committee for Great Britain. It’s the BPA’s responsibility to select, prepare, enter, fund and manage the Great Britain team at the Paralympic Games, known as ParalympicsGB.

The BPA have announced their ten-year strategy, ‘Championing Change’, that will run from 2022 to 2032 and looks to set a long-term direction for the BPA. This strategy points to the near-term challenges and pressures while setting further ambitions for the ten-year period. It allows the organisation to raise their ambitions as a world-leading Paralympic team and acts as a force for change for disabled people in the UK.

Their vision is to inspire a better world for disabled people through sport, with a mission to enable world-leading performance at the Paralympic Games and drive positive, sustainable change in UK society. The BPA know that their vision can only be achieved through working collaboration with other organisations, stakeholders and individuals who have the same values and drive to champion change for disabled people.

The 2012 Paralympic Games in London ignited passion for disability sport and showed the power of the Paralympics to inspire a shift and change to perceptions of both ability and disability. Continued success of ParalympicsGB is built upon in the strategy in addition to delivering real and sustainable improvements to the lives of disabled people in the UK over the next ten-year period.

The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted disabled people, leaving many feeling more excluded from society than ever. This is where the BPA comes in. They work to implement real change and make a tangible difference to the lives of disabled people.

Levy UK are holding a charity dinner on Thursday 12 May at Brentford Community Stadium for an evening of sumptuous food, live and silent auctions and great entertainment. The money raised will go to the BPA to support their work.

In 2021, Levy held two major fundraising events in support of the BPA. The first, was ‘Let’s Talk Tokyo: An Evening with Adam Hills and ParalympicsGB’, which was an online fundraising event hosted by The Last Leg comedian and Trip Hazard star, Rosie Jones. Guests enjoyed an evening of comedy, entertainment and music. Secondly, Levy colleagues took part in a Snowdon Challenge, cycling 7km to the foot of the mountain, climbing the highest mountain in England and Wales, followed by a 2km kayak to raise money for the charity.
