Keith Prowse Top Picks: Head of Marketing

March 28, 2022

It’s always daunting when you’re faced with an occasion or event but don’t know how you want to celebrate it and what the best location might be for your guests. Do you opt for something fancy? Dress to impress, wine and dine? Or do you go for something more casual and informal to enjoy a more relaxed and laid-back experience with your guests?

Well, this series is designed to help provide you with some inspiration for whatever occasion you are faced with so you can have the best experience possible for any event and gift the perfect experience to your loved ones.

We’re asking members of the Keith Prowse team for their top picks for a number of occasions in our calendars. From birthdays and anniversaries, a family day out or a bucket list experience to networking with clients and rewarding your employees, we have something for everyone and your needs.

To kick-off our series, we have asked Sam Coates, Head of Marketing at Keith Prowse, for her top picks to gift for a birthday for the ladies and gentlemen in her life, and her favourite event to reward and bond with employees.

Birthdays

Everyone has experienced that dreaded feeling you get when you realise a loved one’s birthday is just around the corner and you have absolutely no idea what to gift them. Do you get them a scented candle, a new jumper or just opt for a faff-free voucher so they can spend it whichever way they wish? Or do you get them something more special, meaningful and something that will create lasting memories? But what?

It’s never easy to select ‘just the one’ as it’s so dependent on interests of the lucky recipient. But for the ladies in my life, I’d have to plump for Queen’s Club and cinch Championships. A great London location, the epitome of #closertotheaction, as hospitality overlooks the practice courts and Centre Court is nicely sized to capture both atmosphere and play. Add to that, lovely outdoor spaces, exquisite food and bubbles – it’s VIP all the way.

I absolutely love rugby, not something I’d have found myself saying pre-Keith Prowse! You just can’t explain what it feels like to be in the midst of an 82,000-capacity crowd, singing to the National Anthem and chanting Swing Low, Sweet Chariot… breath-taking. The camaraderie, regardless of which team you’re supporting, the ease of access within hospitality – from suite to seat – and the primarily weekend options all combine to make it a day out to remember. And when you take into consideration pre, half-time and post-match entertainment, we’re talking six plus hours of fun. And for me, the art of gift giving is all about making memories.

Employee Bonding and Rewards

I think like many, my introduction to cricket came in the form of the ICC Cricket World Cup Final in 2019. I was mesmerised and still smile each time I think of England’s magical and miraculous performance. I mention because after this, I was invited to watch the Birmingham Bears play at home in a Vitality Blast match – my expectations were exceeded, primarily due to the fast-paced action on the field, and the audience interaction off.  If I was looking for a cost-effective, informal and fully inclusive option for some bonhomie with my team, then this sporting night out would get my vote.

We hope that this has given you some much needed inspiration for your next occasion, and remember, if you are still searching for the perfect event, then our Experience Days might just have the answer and if not why not try our gift vouchers?

Stay tuned for the next edition of our ‘Top Picks’ series, where we’ll be asking our Head of Sales what his top picks are for a family day out and for networking with clients and business partners.
