Demanding pressures to meet company targets and having ever-growing lists of deadlines to meet can make it difficult to find the perfect work-life balance and not let stress affect your wellbeing.
A lot of our time is spent in the workplace, whether you work full-time, part-time or you’re self-employed, your wellbeing at work and the environment you surround yourself in is so important and can impact your productivity, mood and overall attitude towards your job.
Mental health and wellbeing have become an increasingly important issue in society, and rightly so as everyday pressures and demands grow, making more and more of us realise that we need to do more to put our minds and wellbeing first.
It doesn’t take a genius to acknowledge that companies and businesses perform better when their employees are happy, healthy, feel valued, can achieve a work-life balance, helping them to become more motivated to excel and reach personal and business goals.
Here at Keith Prowse we have introduced several initiatives to help improve and prioritise our employee’s wellbeing at work.
Take a look at some of our initiatives below…
Bring your dog to work policy
This is possibly one of our favourite initiatives that has been brought in! We absolutely LOVE having dogs running around the office, providing us with cuddles, playtimes and lots of fun! Our dogs have recently been treated to a dedicated area in our lounge, that features a relaxing corner for them to lie down or play with the exciting selection of toys. And not to mention the endless supply of treats we have for them (when their owners allow them!)
Wellbeing and relaxation pods
There are a number of calming and useful items in our relaxation pod, including an aroma diffuser, aromatherapy oil, yoga mats, foam rollers, eye masks and bean bags for when we need to take a moment away from our desks and reset.
YouMatter Team
We have a dedicated team who are Mental Health First Aid trained, which affords us the ability not just to have incentives that make us a Great Place to Work, but also practical on hand mental wellbeing support.
Breakfasts and lunch feasts
Our fantastic office manager Debbie always treats us to lots of goodies in the kitchen. From providing fresh fruit, croissants and cereals every morning to cooking a delicious lunch every Tuesday and Thursday, we can quite simply say we are spoilt in the food department!
Working from Home
We like many companies around the world have introduced working from home initiatives and flexi working. Our employees are able to work from home 2 days a week and use the flexi-working scheme.
KP Socials
We like to have fun here at KP, so it’s important for us all to get out of the office together and switch off, for example when we went to Flight Club and the England v Barbarians game at Twickenham Stadium.
If you want to improve your wellbeing at work or your employee’s wellbeing, then why not consider a day of all-inclusive hospitality at one of the greatest sporting events in the world? Attending The Championships, Wimbledon, watching the England Rugby team play Twickenham Stadium or going to Edgbaston Stadium for an action-packed day at the cricket – we have something to boost everyone’s mood and wellbeing!
