Wimbledon is one of the world's most iconic sporting events. From the action on-court, it's global following and prestigious heritage, it's certainly a place you can dress to impress and is where you can make a fashion statement! We can’t wait to welcome our guests back into hospitality for another year of exquisite tennis and more memorable experiences.
While the excitement builds, are you having trouble with deciding what to wear to this year’s Championships? Is your outfit smart enough? Is it too smart? Will it be too hot in the unpredictable British weather? Will it be too uncomfortable to wear all day? Well worry no more, because we’re giving you some top tips to help you prepare for Wimbledon so you can enjoy your day to the fullest, while looking ace!
Handbag essentials
Here are a few little items that might be useful to fit into your bags or jacket pockets so you’re prepared for every event.
- Sun cream
- Sun hat
- Sunglasses (for style and practicality!)
- Small bag to fit all the essentials in, but not too large that it will get in your way (lipstick, hairbrush, sunglasses, phone)
- A portable phone charger (if you’re hoping to capture your fantastic experience throughout the day and don’t want to be left phone-less for your journey home!)
- Bottle of water – bottles are available for hospitality guests in your facility, but always make sure to stay hydrated on court, particularly on those hotter days
- Hand sanitiser
- Tissues (for those hay fever sufferers!)
- Umbrella (we don't want to tempt fate, but better to be prepared!)
Outfits for the ladies
It can always be difficult to choose what to wear to such a highlight event that exerts such elegance. You want to look stylish and fit in to the event at hand, however you also want to be comfortable so you can enjoy the day without any worries.
Whatever your style, just think comfort, weather and Wimbledon! Similar to a summer garden party.
- Jacket or light jumper for cooler days or evening play
- Dress - we love a midi or maxi, especially comfortable and practical when you're watching the tennis from your seats
- Skirt and top - a floral or silky skirt is always a winner with a neutral coloured shirt or blouse
- Trousers and shirt - think wide leg, tailored trousers with a loose cotton shirt, paired with a statement bag, jewellery and large sunglasses
- Jumpsuit - always a classic and classy option that can be paired with any bag or shoes
- Heels, wedges or for more comfort, fashion trainers (think white leather trainers with a chunky sole)
- Clutch bag or cross body bag to hold your essentials
Outfits for the gentlemen
Wimbledon is the perfect occasion to pull out your favourite summer shirts, your bold patterned belts and your smart linen jackets. If you really want to get summer ready, then a Panama is a must!
- Jacket - linen is a good option for those hotter days
- Shirt - a light linen shirt in any pastel colour, navy or white is always a winner, or opt for a classic white, navy or colourful cotton shirt
- Chinos – bold and bright or classic neutral trousers for a timeless look to pair with a white or light blue shirt
- Shoes – brogues, fashion trainers or loafers all work well with a shirt and trousers, but make sure they're comfortable too
- Sunglasses - the perfect accessory to stop you squinting on court and elevate your outfit
We hope this has given you a sense of what to choose to wear for Wimbledon this year, particularly if you’re one of our hospitality guests in our facilities and want to dress for the occasion. But whatever you decide to wear, make sure you take a photo and enjoy the tennis!
