Eastbourne International 2022 Review

August 25, 2022

After Covid-19 forcing the cancellation of the 2020 tournament and limited capacity at the 2021 edition, it was amazing to see Devonshire Park back at full capacity for the 2022 Rothesay International. The Club welcomed packed-out crowds, who enjoyed beautiful sunny weather for most of the week, making the event a real treat for spectators - especially being so close to the beach!

Fancy re-living the tournament? Have a read of our Eastbourne International 2022 review, including highlights results and a glimpse into what Keith Prowse is offering at this popular tournament in 2023…

Mens Finalists with Trophies Eastbourne 2022Results

Taylor Fritz won the Men’s singles title and was crowned champion at Eastbourne for the second time. The world No. 12 beat Maxime Cressy in an all-American final to claim the title. Speaking about his win, he said:

“It’s where I won my first title and when I got here, I already felt like I was playing so much better than I was before just being here. This place always has a special spot in my heart.

Thank you to the fans who have been incredible all week. This is such an amazing tournament and a lot of it is to do with how great the turnout is.” – (Source: LTA)

In the Women’s singles, it was Petra Kvitova who took the title - her first at Devonshire Park. She beat her opponent Jelena Ostapenko, defending Eastbourne champion, in straight sets to claim her 29th singles title in her career.

HighlightsWilliams Doubles Eastbourne 2022

Serena Williams made an appearance in the double’s tournament and made it to the semi-final, before having to pull out due to a knee injury for her partner Ons Jabeur. Spectators could watch her train on the practice courts, making them within touching distance from this world-renowned tennis legend.

This is one of the reasons Devonshire Park is such a special place; it is a beautiful ground where supporters can watch world class players battle it out on the main courts but can also watch these players up close on the practice courts.

Other names to take note of is British No.4 Katie Boulter, who beat 4th seed Karolina Pliskova for a career best win. Jack Draper also made the trip down to the South Coast; whilst he suffered defeat to this year’s runner up Maxime Cressy in the semi-final. The 20-year-old is currently at his career high ranking of 55th in the world and is a young British player to keep an eye on as he has had a great year so far.

2022

New to Devonshire Park in 2022 was the spectator stand on Court No.2, meaning many more tennis fans were able to watch enjoy on-court action, in addition to Court No.1 and Centre Court. All the more reason to come to Eastbourne!

In 2022, we offered The Sky Lounge hospitality package. Guests enjoyed a breakfast reception, three-course lunch, afternoon tea and a range of drinks all included in the package – no wonder it was a total sell-out for 2022! They also had great views from the Sky Lounge, over both Centre and No.1 Courts, meaning guests could enjoy world-class tennis right from the hospitality area.

Love Fifteen Hospitality TableLooking ahead to 2023

In 2023, in addition to The Sky Lounge, we will also be adding three other hospitality experiences to our offering.

The new Love Fifteen hospitality package includes a three-course meal as well as afternoon tea and a range of drinks. It includes great seats in the Centre Court premium south stand located directly behind the server. It is a great package for a full day of great tennis and hospitality.

Also new for 2023 is the Baseline hospitality area. There are two packages available; ‘First Serve’ is a morning of hospitality with a brunch buffet and a range of drinks included. After brunch you can then use your event ticket to enjoy the tennis throughout the rest of the day.

The other Baseline package is the ‘Second Serve’, where you can enjoy the tennis in the morning and have afternoon tea and drinks in hospitality in the late afternoon. The tickets for both Baseline experiences are prime-located Centre Court seats and are both half-day hospitality packages - perfect if you want to get the most from the tennis but also enjoy premium hospitality.
