Keith Prowse and The Experience St Andrews are always looking for opportunities to make a difference. This year, we are proud to do just that, and take on a new initiative, to change the lives of a number of children in Kenya.
“Growth through love and learning”…
The Baobab Kindergarten School is a small, family run charity based in Nairobi; it is a school that supports 90 children aged 3-6, nourishing them through food, security, healthcare, and education. What’s more, the charity provides these children with a sense of belonging and happiness – things that are not readily available to those who come from the poorest of backgrounds, yet what every child should experience.
Our Aim
We love an element of challenge here, so we’re putting our team building, fundraising, organising and physical fitness abilities to the test, to achieve our goal! What is our overall goal, you may ask? The Keith Prowse and The Experience St Andrews team aim to raise enough funds to build a library, as well as landscape the playground, and equip said library with books, PCs and desks. Parents and children will be able to enjoy the new area, which will aid learning capabilities.
Our Fundraising Initiatives
We have a target of £10,000 to raise collectively, which will cover all costs involved within our aim. We have a some really exciting fundraising initiatives in the pipeline, to help us get to that number, including in-house activities and special events, throughout the year.
Our fundraising kickstarted in December 2022, where we hosted a ‘wear your best Christmas jumper to work’ Day, and a Festive Bake Off in both our Twickenham and St Andrews offices, with all proceeds going straight into the fundraising pot. We also plan on having other in-house initiatives in place throughout the year, to top up our funds – keep an eye on our socials to see what we get up to!
In addition, a large group of us will be putting our physical strength to the test, as they take part in ‘The Great Big Walk’. As you can probably guess by the name of the initiative, this involves a walk around London, which encompasses all the London venues within our portfolio. Those who have chosen to take part have the option of walking 25 miles in one day, or 50 miles in two days. It will certainly require a level of fitness, but will also test skills such as dedication, determination, motivation, and teamwork. Those who fancy following our Great Big Walk progress will be able to get all the insight on our social channels, as we plan on taking you along for the ride (behind the scenes footage will certainly feature!)
All charities are special, and knowing that our efforts, along with your support, will change the lives of so many children is nothing short of rewarding and fulfilling. We can’t wait to see what we achieve in the year ahead!
