The Hundred 2023

March 22, 2023

The countdown is on until The Hundred...

The hundred 2023 is well and truly in sight and we can’t wait. The evenings are slowly but surely getting lighter, the team drafts are beginning to happen and the hospitality packages are now on sale – roll on the summer!

The Hundred first started in 2021, becoming a new franchise cricket league based in England and Wales. It consists of eight teams spread far and wide across England and Wales. The unique style of The Hundred is what has attracted a large following over the last few years, bringing new fans to the sport because of the exciting cricketing action and level of sporting entertainment! With each team facing 100 balls, they must make every shot and every wicket-taking opportunity count if they want to be crowned the converted 2023 Champions.

Birmingham PhoenixThe new format was created with the hope to inspire a new type of cricket fan… one which is drawn to The Hundred for its roaring entertainment, colourful scenes and out of the stadium sixes! With Bowlers set to deliver 5 or 10 balls, the ends change after every 10 balls and a maximum of 20 balls can be bowled per bowler, keeping The Hundred fast-paced and intense! The Trent Rockets were crowned the Men’s Champions in 2022 and the Oval Invincibles were crowned the Women’s champions – both teams are the ones to beat this year! We can’t wait to see who can step up to the mark this tournament.

The draft is taking place on 23 March just days away, and we are truly excited to see which players will be playing for each team. A great watch for cricket fans and an interesting way for each team’s selections to happen - this has previously happened behind closed doors. There are some big names already signed up for the 2023 tournament such as Babar Azam and Danni Wyatt, who else are we going to see appear in this year’s draft?

Keith Prowse is proud to offer hospitality for two stadiums, home to two iconic teams in The Hundred.

First off we have the Birmingham Phoenix team who play their home matches at Edgbaston Stadium, in Birmingham - world renowned for its upbeat and exciting atmosphere.

Then we have the Oval Invincibles, who play their home matches at The Kia Oval - which is situated right in the heart of London and comes complete with stunning views of the London skyline.

Both make for perfect locations to watch The Hundred in action on a warm summers evening! The Oval Invincibles are also 2022 Women’s Hundred Champions, and will be looking to retain their title this year – you won’t want to miss this!

The Hundred has well and truly fixed its place in the English cricket calendar and is ever expanding. We can’t wait to experience what is in store this year at both Edgbaston Stadium and The Kia Oval, for another thrilling tournament packed with high-level entertainment throughout the summer!
