LIV Golf is a name resonating with sports and golf fans around the world, with the hope of attracting a whole new audience and making current fans fall even more in love with the sport. As described by LIV themselves; ‘The LIV Golf League is for the millions of us who love golf already – and for millions more who are just getting started’. Without doubt, this tournament has arrived to shake up the golfing world and take the spotlight with some of the biggest names in golf, across some stunning locations worldwide.
What’s more, LIV wanted to add even more excitement to golf with the addition of team play. As well as golfers playing to win tournaments individually, they also are scoring vital points for their team, in a bid to secure a team title. This gives fans the ability to not only follow their favourite golfer as an individual, but also the opportunity to follow their team, and the players within, meaning you can enjoy live action from several viewpoints.

Players are awarded points for their finishing position; the player with the most points at the end of the season will thus become the overall Champion. As well as players, each team is ranked based off their finishing position after each tournament. They each get seeded heading into the final event of the season, based on their points: for example, the top team is the first seed, whilst the last team becomes the twelfth seed. Teams then battle in head-to-head tournament style play leading up to an epic final. There will be a roster of spots available for players with the top 24 players locked in for the next season. Finishing in the bottom four of individual standings may result in relegation, so every point really does count.
As mentioned, LIV Golf is played across the world with Tournaments covering several continents spanning over 14 events. The winning team is crowned at the penultimate tournament of the season in November 2023…
