W14’s annual ATP 500 tournament, 4-time ATP tournament of the year may we add, is a true highlight in the tennis calendar. From the incredible standard of tennis witnessed on court, to its breath-taking and prestigious location, nestled in the heart of charming Kensington, it’s no wonder that general admission was a complete sell out this year. So, it’s a privilege for us, the #experienceexperts, to be the exclusive hospitality provider at such an iconic event. What’s more, it was great to welcome back our guests to the club with our range of award-winning experiences; hospitality offers a truly perfect blend of special and unforgettable moments both on and off the courts. The Experience Experts Returned to W14
Without doubt, putting the level of work, planning and execution required to deliver our hospitality experiences, into just a few words, is extremely difficult; our teams work year-round to ensure that every last detail is considered for our events. We have five different experiences to choose from, so that we can comfortably offer something for everyone, from the tennis fans to the foodies of the group. We reflect on but a few below…
Our guests in Love Fifteen were welcomed into the hospitality village with an array of fresh-looking décor; blue was the colour of choice here, which paired perfectly with the immersive tennis graphics situated on the pillars and walls. Everywhere you looked, you could see the tennis theme shining through. It was the perfect space to build the excitement for a day of tennis viewing. With a facility name like that, are we surprised? Love Fifteen was certainly feeling the love throughout the week!
Roof Garden guests were immersed into a garden-like interior as soon as they stepped foot into the space. The experience was described as ‘simply gorgeous’, ‘stunning’, and ‘an extra touch of magic at this Club’ by some, and we couldn’t agree more (sorry to toot our own horn!) A live band took to centre stage this year, which, paired with the laughter and natter about the on-court action, made for a simply delightful ambience when enjoying award-winning food offerings. Oh…and did we mention the outside bar? Yes, guests were sipping on Pimm’s all day long just inches from the players on the practice courts.
Ahhhh, Club Lounge...the epitome of a gastronomic journey at the tennis. From arrival, our guests were greeted with smiles, a live pianist and Champagne, to set the scene for a truly stunning day out at The Queen’s Club. When not immersing oneself in the intimate environment of Club Lounge, guests could also head to the private garden to soak up that gorgeous June sunshine. Canapés, a four-course menu, and afternoon tea was a sight for sore eyes, and the lunch menu of dreams for a day out at the tennis.
A First Grass Title, A First Class Performance
There was a plethora of talent heading to this year’s edition of the cinch Championships. This tournament has seen some of the greatest stars compete for the silverware, and 2023 echoed this.
At just 20 years old, it was Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz who was crowned as our Queen’s Club champion; a crowd favourite from the start and delivered a series of apocalyptic aces and jaw-dropping serves – some of which were recorded at just shy of 140mph.
Alcaraz beat top World No.18, 24-year-old Australian Alex de Minaur to take the crown, in a 6-4, 6-4 triumph. Both were looking to earn their maiden cinch Championships title; however, it was the top seed who denied De Minaur in becoming the first Australian winner at W14 since Lleyton Hewitt in 2006.
Do we think Alcaraz has what it takes to win his first Wimbledon title in just a few weeks? He will certainly be looking to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Rafael Nadal, who did the very same in 2008, re-enforcing Queen’s as a key indicator for the Grand Slam event. What’s more, his Queen’s victory meant that Alcaraz regained his World No.1 ranking – will this be enough to threaten Djokovic’s defence of the Wimbledon title? Either way, the new King of Queen’s is certainly hungry for more success on the grass courts.
