The start of a New Year brings a whole bunch of new rugby fixtures to get excited about and look forward to in 2024. After no Autumn Nations Series tournament in 2023 due to the Rugby World Cup, we’re treated to even more matches at Twickenham this year.
An iconic and intense tournament that never fails to deliver drama, intensity and immense passion. The Guinness Six Nations see some of the Europe’s greatest teams and international players go head-to-head for the title and the coveted Grand Slam.
Old rivals will battle it out for victory as England welcome Wales back to Twickenham Stadium.
England beat Wales 20-10 in 2023, but can they do it again or will the Welsh side dominate in 2024?
England will be facing current reigning Grand Slam champions Ireland in their second match at Twickenham for the Guinness Six Nations. When they last met in the tournament in 2023, Ireland stole the win 29-16 – but can they do it again or can England come out on top following their 3rd place finish in the Rugby World Cup?
The Guinness Women’s Six Nations will see some of the greatest players in the northern hemisphere take to the pitch against fellow European rivals to win the Championship and Grand Slam. The Red Roses will be looking smash their own match day appearance record when they host old rivals Ireland Women at Twickenham Stadium for the first time in 2024.
This historic fixture is the showpiece finale of the Inter-Services Championships where both sides will be determined to win the Babcock Trophy at the Home of Rugby - Twickenham Stadium. This face-off returns in May 2024 and will be the 105th Army v Navy Senior XV match for the men’s team, and the 20th for the women’s.
Two of England’s top club rugby teams will come together at Twickenham Stadium for the grand final to fight for the victory. Reigning champions Saracens beat Sale Sharks 35-25 in the 2023 final, but who will win the Premiership in 2024?
The England boys will be touring New Zealand in Summer 2024 to face the All Blacks. England’s last tour to New Zealand was in 2014 where they lost the series 3-0. This will be the first of the squad’s summer tours under head coach Steve Borthwick and will provide an opportunity for England to face the opposition before their final meeting of the year in the Autumn Nations Series in November.
Any fixture involving the All Blacks are highly demanded and eagerly anticipated. England will be facing the Haka on their home turf, and this fixture is sure to be a showstopper.
The Wallabies will return to Twickenham for the first time since 2021 to play England. With a rugby rivalry dating back to 1909, the two sides have played each other 55 times, with England leading the total wins 28 to 26, with one draw.
World Champions will return to the home of rugby in November to try and retain their win against England at Twickenham. After last facing each other in the 2023 Rugby World Cup semi-final, where South Africa narrowly fought back to claim the final match position in the second half, England will be wanting to get their revenge.

Launching in 2024, the new annual men’s 15s tournament will include Canada, Japan, Samoa, Fiji, USA and Tonga which aims to increase global competitiveness in the run up to the Rugby World Cups in Australia in 2027 and in USA in 2031. It will be played during August and September (the release window for the southern hemisphere) featuring two pools of three teams. A final series will occur each year involving all the teams where the annual champion will be confirmed. Each team will play an extra three matches per year with this new competition, allowing greater certainty within the game.
The inaugural WXV Tournament took place from October 2023 and is the newest competition in the women’s game. This three-tier 15s tournament is revolutionising the international women’s game, providing a pathway for all unions in the runup to an expanded 16-team Rugby World Cup in 2025. After being crowned the champions of the tournament in 2023, England’s Red Roses will be determined to go into 2024 to retain their title.
