Their journey began in 1934 when they played their first-ever Test match against Australia at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. Since then, England has established itself as a powerhouse in the women’s game.

The team’s Test match history in England includes memorable encounters at iconic venues like Edgbaston and The Kia Oval. The first Test at Edgbaston took place in 1998, marking a significant milestone in the women's cricketing calendar. The Kia Oval, one of the most prestigious cricket grounds, hosted its first women's Test match in 1991, solidifying its place as a key venue for England’s women cricketers.

Winning Habits

 England's most remarkable achievement in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup came in 1993 when they clinched the title for the first time, defeating New Zealand in the final. They continued to impress in later years, with their most recent victory coming in 2017, when they triumphed over India at Lord's, securing their fourth World Cup title.

 Over the years, many players from the England women’s team have been inducted into the ICC Women’s Cricket Hall of Fame. As of now, eight players have earned this honor. Some of the most notable inductees include Rachael Heyhoe-Flint, a pioneer for women’s cricket and a key figure in the team’s early successes; Clare Taylor, a renowned middle-order batsman; and Caroline Atkins, known for her contributions both as a player and coach. More recently, Charlotte Edwards, regarded as one of the greatest female cricketers, has earned a place in the Hall of Fame.
